TABOO

Origins:

TABOO’s journey began in 2016 when its Co-Founders, Isobel Marshall and Eloise Hall, attended a Bond University leadership conference in the summer preceding their final year of high school. Following the conference, Marshall and Hall were inspired to establish a business that enabled the everyday purchases of Australians while improving the lives of people around the world. After some brainstorming and research, they decided that the menstrual hygiene market was a perfect place to do so. Their passion to fight period poverty, aid sanitary health projects in developing countries and break the taboo surrounding menstruation empowered them to launch their first batch of organic cotton pads and tampons to the Australian market in August 2019.

About TABOO:

TABOO is a social enterprise that exists to sell and distribute organic cotton pads and tampons to those in Australia, with all profits dedicated to empowering women by ensuring that all women around the world have greater access to sustainable sanitary health care and education. They aim to break down the stigma surrounding menstruation and to encourage the conversation around period poverty around the globe, with 100% of their net profits contributing to One Girl’s education programs for girls and women in Sierra Leone and Uganda.
